The New Christmas CD is Here!
Nathanael’s Creed is pleased to announce a new collection of Christmas music titled “Home Again With You.”
Like the five-piece band’s two other CDs and their live performances, the new CD reflects a diversity of musical
styles and influences, including jazz, adult contemporary, classical, folk and world music.
“Home Again With You” features 13 songs, including the title track, which was written by Steve Givens, Phil Cooper
and Jim Russell and inspired by a poem written by Phil’s daughter, Katie, a graduate student at Princeton Theological Seminary.
“Katie’s poem and the lyrics we wrote just cried out to be recorded as a jazz ballad and we tried to channel Nat King Cole
and Tony Bennett,” says Phil, who brought the poem to Steve and Jim during one of their songwriting sessions several years ago.
Adding to the jazz influences on the CD is another track called “Djangled Bells,” a Gypsy-jazz influenced version of “Jingle Bells”
arranged by Jim, a devotee of the great jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt. In addition to seven other original compositions and
adaptations, the collection includes the band’s instrumental and vocal takes on four well-known Christmas carols – “Adeste Fideles,”
“Silent Night,” “Little Drummer Boy” and “It Came Upon a Midnight Clear.”

support of their own programs. There is no other charge to the church or
